MY NYSC EXPERIENCE episode 6 By Beebah

Welcome back guys, so the website has been away for a while and I’m glad we are back.

Road to K.D city

Get in the bus guys we have a long way to go.
So the road to Kaduna was a bit better than Niger’s.
The road was smoother and it was beginning to look like we are in the city already. Although it still had some rural areas kinda attribute. We were just in the state and not the capital yet. But we were passing by petrol stations, modern shops, modern houses, modern markets.
The place was having a semi Lagos look; people hawking cold drinks, satchet water (pure water like we call it) but one very interesting thing about that was they were not saying pure water tutu reee, or cold pure water here. Trust me I can’t remember that language. Lol.
Some guys also brought some snack to us, looks like a yam dipped in flour and fried with eggs.
Trust me I saw a whole lot of things to convince me enough that we were no longer in Lagos.
Some music were playing in the air and it was all in Hausa but trust me that’s some hit jam.
We left the petrol station that gave me the opportunity of that quick sight seeing.
We continued our journey and now the sun was harsh and it was just some minutes past one.
We kept moving and moving and oh! how can i forget my amazing ride mates.
The journey was never a dulling moment, I laughed my heart out  if that was ever possible.
The driver who should be in his 60s complained so much that he confessed that in his over 30 years experience, he has never come across corp members as naughty as us.
We started singing to the man to stop so we can eat at any restaurant we come across.
Baba had to plead to us and promised he was going to stop by at one he is familiar with.
We eventually highlighted at a typical yoruba bukka and we all ate, drank and met with other guys going to the orientation camp but in a different bus.
While everyone drank, ate, played around, there was also one other thing I saw.
At the sight of this I was Heartbroken, I was close to tears, I was angry and sad at the same time.
What is going on in this part of the country?
